[Ancient Civilizations and the Bible]

For those who are interested, Bloom's Taxonomy is a tool to help teachers establish their educational objectives. Highly regarded and widely used among educators, it is used to assure that a course of study challenges the thought processes of each student from the youngest to the most developed.
In our study guide, we have followed the wisdom of using Bloom's Taxonomy in the development of our lesson suggestions. (Important Note: You DON'T need to understand Bloom's Taxonomy in order to benefit from the use of it in this study guide!)

Incorporated throughout Ancient Civilizations and the Bible: A "Digging Deeper" Study Guide are questions, activities and assignments that cover the range of the six categories described in Bloom's Taxonomy:

  • Knowledge: Remembering, drilling, listing, repeating

  • Comprehension: Understanding, identifying, reviewing, explaining, reporting

  • Application: Solving, using, interpreting, demonstrating, illustrating

  • Analysis: Analyzing, experimenting, debating, comparing, questioning

  • Synthesis: Creating, formulating, designing, arranging

  • Evaluation: Judging, evaluating, appraising, establishing criteria
