Our own homeschool journey began in July of 1981 when we first learned of the amazing adventure a few courageous parents were taking in teaching their children at home. It looked so beneficial, so wonderful, that we jumped in with both feet. Little did we know that we would be stretched way beyond our comfort zone; that we would experience a new, cutting-edge system of education; that the trial-and-error nature of homeschooling would teach us volumes about how people really learn; and that the benefits to our children and our family would so outweigh the costs (time, money, and energy) that they would seem practically negligible.

In the midst of our own homeschooling adventure, we have traveled for the past twelve years to speak to thousands of home educating families in different cities, states, provinces and countries. Twenty-two years, half a million miles, and three graduates later, we are even more convinced that this is a journey worth taking!

Our mission statement and our ministry heart is: “To serve by equipping, encouraging & educating families in an entertaining way.” Thus, at www.dianawaring.com, you can find many helpful possibilities for your own homeschooling journey.

If you are tired, scared, or in need of encouragement, please read our FREE online articles and newsletters, or, from our online catalog, consider our homeschool books, videos and convention workshop tapes.

If you need to “lighten up” in your homeschool, please go to the Laughing Corner and chuckle a bit. You might also consider the convention workshop tape, Hilarious Homeschool.

If you need vision for what you are doing, please consider reading Reaping The Harvest. It will show you not only where you could be going, but how to get there.

If you have children that are bored with school, please read about our curriculum (it utilizes the four learning styles, and is appropriate for viusal, auditory AND kinesthetic kids). You might also want to read the books, Beyond Survival and Reaping the Harvest for the chapters on learning styles and eight intelligences.

If your children love to listen to tapes, or if you spend a lot of time in the car and want to make it count, please consider our world history recordings. Many families around the world tell us that their children actually memorize these tapes because they enjoy listening to them over and over again!

If you have children who love to read, OR if you have children who hate to read, please consider our curriculum. Since it contains lists of great books, it draws in students who love to read, AND since it uses a lot of audio, it draws in students who don’t enjoy reading!

If you are looking for a history program that has God at the center, please read about our world history tapes and curriculum. We believe that history is His Story, and that history is both memorable and sensible when learned in light of Who He is and what He has been doing throughout time.

If you are longing for a way to teach sit-on-the-edge-of-your-chair-in-suspense history to your children, then please consider our world history tapes and curriculum. Many parents have reported with amazement how our curriculum has given their children such a zest for school and such a love for history!

Again, welcome to all of you. If you have comments or questions about our website, please e-mail us at diana@dianawaring.com.
